On my last voyage to Chiang Rai, Northern Thailand, I gave away a book – decided to part with my Percy Jackson in good faith of limited space in my backpack. Had some coffee for brunch, bought some fragrant Doi Chang Coffee Beans to bring home, and head out to my next adventure in lieu of my last day here.
After some persuasion and strong recommendation from my ex colleague before coming to Chiang Rai, I decided to spend a relaxing day at a local tea house known as Chivit Thamma Da Coffee House. Located along Mueang, this charming tea house comprises of a Venetian style garden, a French restaurant with seats by the riverbank, a Bar and Bistro and a fully equipped library. It was a beautiful day to chill, relax, have dinner, read and spend some moments reflecting in solitude.

After my short Grab ride of 40 minutes, I needed the washroom. In my frantic desperation in search of the WC, I chanced upon this:

Sill in awe of structural architecture of the compound and artistic WC, I wandered off to explore further:

I spent most of my time wandering around the Garden, fountains and swinging by the docks while daydreaming. That was before I heard the obnoxious rumbling of my gut.

And this was my favourite part, FOOD!

I needed to facilitate my digestion after my hunger has been satiated. So it was some time for tea and books in the huge library upstairs.

It has been long since I last “dated” myself.
“Solitude recharges the soul.”
